Lee Miles - Heathen Blux CD release show at The Brass Rail, Fort Wayne, IN - 5/31/08
featuring:
Mister Doctor Professor
Kyle Morris
Thunderhawk
Lee Miles and the Illegitimate Sons
Alabaster Fox
So yeah...Let it be known that Lee and the Sons can play that rock and roll.
So yeah...I switched up my technique a few times during the show, which isn't really a great idea if the goal is to create a nice congruent set of images, but it's good for helping me learn how to take pictures of stuff. Anyway...the general thing I think I was going for was minimal depth of field flash work...to deal with the lighting/background issues found at the Rail. I've come to the conclusion that when taking phographs at the Rail the best approach is to 1) turn on flash, 2) point camera at band, 3) push little black button...ambient light is just more trouble than it's worth...yeah, I said it.
I should probably mention that, ironically, I didn't actually take any photographs of Alabaster Fox, because I was out on the back patio talking to the other photographers in attendance. At first this kind of made me feel like an ass, but then I realized I've always been an ass, so no harm done.
peace,
